Chianti Classico Riserva Wine has a familiarity to it that other wines will never obtain and is among the most famous wines in Italy. Chianti wine comes from the Chianti region of Tuscany and only wines from this region can be called Chianti.
About
ChiantiChianti Wine was first seen in the 13th century. Its consists of Sangiovese and Canaiolo red grapes, while the Trebbiano and Malvasia are the main whites. The Dalmasso Commission defined seven Chianti zones in 1932:

Chianti Classico Riserva wine is red, usually dark and quite tannic (there are also variations which are softer and fruiter). It compliments well-seasoned foods and is thought to be one of the best wines in Italy. Currently, the Chianti Classico label has a "Black Rooster" emblem, which indicates the vineyard is apart of the Chianti Classico Consorzio but not all as yet belong to this.
