Parco dell’Uccellina is undoubtedly the biggest attraction in Maremma, which incorporates Monti dell’Uccellina and a splendid stretch of unspoiled coastline. Monte Argentario was once an island but is now linked to the main land by a road and is a popular retreat with Romans due to its lovely beaches and scenery.

Heading inland, there are villages such as Massa Marittima, Montemerano, Saturnia, Sovana and Manciano, which are small villages filled with Etruscan heritage and medieval buildings.

These towns and villages are easily reachable from Florence, Siena and Arezzo, although Chianti car hire is a definite plus, for the more hard to reach places.
