Florence is usually the starting destination in Chianti, with its many galleries and churches such as the Uffizi Gallery and Basicilica di Santa Maria Novella mesmerising the tourist.

In Siena there is the well know Palio festival every June and August, the Piero della Francesca Arezzo trail attracts those keen on this artist, while Cortona, Montepulciano and San Gimignano are surrounded by many vineyards producing wines such as Vernaccia di San Gimignano, Brunello di Montalcino, Chianti Riserva Classica and Nobile di Montepulciano.
